Western
Carp Gudgeon is a very small fish, only reaching 5cm. Colour
varies from grey-green to gold-brown depending on habitat.
Likes plenty of cover in the form of aquatic vegetation, fallen
timber (snags) and leaf litter. Males guard the eggs till
hatching which are laid in small clusters underneath leaves
and small rocks. Eats a variety of small invertebrates and
is likely to be translocated from the River Murray.
